Hacivat takes its name from the erudite wit of Ottoman shadow theatre, and the fragrance shares his intelligence. The opening is exuberant — sharp pineapple and grapefruit with real bite — but beneath the fruit sits a proper chypre skeleton: cedar, oakmoss and a clean woody accord that keeps everything dry, polished and adult. The result is brightness with a straight back; juicy where lesser scents turn syrupy, crisp where they collapse.
